Abstract:
To achieve the constant runout control of hydraulic arresting gear system for different aircrafts, an approach to design cam profile for arresting system is presented. Mathematical model of the Mark7 Mod3 system was constructed, and the simulation of its performance was carried out. The results show that, for the aircrafts with different weights and different engaging speeds, the Mark7 Mod3 system can recover the incoming carrier-based aircrafts within the constant distance. Also, it is proved that the designed cam profile is effectively.
