基于线偏振模的多模耦合分析

Analysis of the Coupling Performance of Multimode Fiber Based on Linear Polarized Mode

  • 摘要: 利用线偏振模特征方程的特征参数U,W和光纤功率分布函数,得到光纤内不同模式功率在纤芯中的分布. 根据光纤模耦合方程,给出各个模式的耦合系数,并计算了在不同条件下,多模光纤的模式对耦合效率和耦合长度的影响,归纳出提高模耦合效率的要点. 计算结果表明,在制作光纤耦合器或合束器时,要根据采用的光纤参数设计耦合长度以达到最佳的耦合效果.

     

    Abstract: The eigen values of linear polarized mode (U,W) are calculated based on the eigen value equations of linear polarized mode of multimode fiber. The situation of power distribution of different modes is obtained when put the results into the power distributing function of fiber. With the use of fiber coupling equation, the coupling coefficient of every mode is calculated. The coupling efficiency and length of coupling fiber are calculated in different conditions. Depending on the analysis of numerical value, how to improve the efficiency of multimode fiber coupling is summarized. The result reflects that, for manufacturing the fiber coupler or combiner, it is necessary to consider the relation between fiber parameters and length of coupling fiber to achieve the optimal coupling.
