星空图像压缩算法

摘要: 针对星空图像的平坦区域内存在大量冗余信息的特点,提出了一种基于目标对象的星空图像压缩算法.该算法将星图划分成相对平坦的背景和相对复杂的目标对象.编码时前者分配较少的码流,后者应用小波分解,去除该区域内像素间的相关性,并利用其所具有的能量聚集效应进行高效压缩.实验结果表明,采用该算法对星图进行高压缩比编码时能够获得较高的峰值信噪比,同时重建图像也具有良好的主观视觉效果.Abstract: There exist a large amount of redundant information in the smooth areas of a star map. Based on this characteristic, a star map compression algorithm is proposed relying on target object. This algorithm divides a star map into two sets of which, one is the smooth background and the other the complicated target object. The former areas can be coded with less data quantity when the latter areas are being coded, wavelet decomposition is applied to remove the relativity among pixels. Then the coefficients can be coded efficiently throngh energy clustering. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm achieved good visual quality and the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) is excellent.
