Abstract:
A method based upon the theory of individual nutritional assessment is discussed. The principles of fuzzy math are applied to the study of individualized nutritional intake with the concept of the nutritional curve. The study is based on the theory of individualized nutrition assessment. The optimal intake and the membership function of the main nutrients, including carbohydrate, fat, protein, major minerals, trace minerals, fat-soluble vitamins, water-soluble vitamins, dietary fibre and cholesterol are described in fuzzy sets based on the Chinese dietary reference intakes. P value is used as a nutritional index for food intake status assessment. This can be calculated on the basis of the membership grade of nutrients, nutritional status of individuals and the under or over basis of the food nutrients known. This method can be applied to intervention of food intake on an individual basis.
