Abstract:
A design scheme is introduced which can implement multi resolution image fusion algorithm on the two channel (visual and infrared band) image fusion processing system. The hardware platform of this solution is based on the latest high performance DSP TMS320C6201 and many considerations of structural optimization are adopted. The software coding is optimized in meny respects for this DSP system according to features of multi resolution image decomposition and reconstruction process. As a result, the system fairly balances heavy computation burden of some fusion algorithms, mass datum storage and real time request for hardware, which ensures the quasi real time realization for complex image fusion algorithm.
