Abstract: To investigate software methods for the load balance of network services in a cluster server, the paper discusses the feature of implementing load balance by a special router, and analyses the software for its implementation by way of requests of clients to multiple servers through IP dispatchers, so as to implement load balance of network services. Moreover, the algorithms of dispatching servers, the problem of system performance and the problem of high availability are discussed. Without additional special network devices, the load balance of network services in the cluster server is in this way implemented by software methods through IP dispatching.
