Abstract: Compressor fault diagnosis is studied with the aid of genetic algorithms (GA). Through GA the optimal combination of the characteristic parameters is searched and the compressor fault distinguished. The diagnosis precision can thus be increased. Optimal combination by GA has been used to distinguish different faults and proved to be effective to compressor fault diagnosis as well as to machine fault diagnosis in general.
