Abstract: To manage effectively larger numbers of data used and produced during car body CAD. Dynamic and secure design and OLE technology were adopted to solve the special problem of car body CAD data and environment on the basis of commercial database management system. A car body CAD database management system was developed and applied to practice successfully. It is doable to manage effectively car body CAD data through developing commercial database management system, which is also the foundation of developing car product data management(PDM) system.
