Abstract: Aim To investigate the occlusal force and strain of upper complete denture bases. Methods A test and analysis system was set up to measure the occlusal force, strain on the denture bases. A series of tests of upper complete dentures were completed during the mastication. Results Lots of the data of occlusal force and strain on different conditions were acquired in the experiments. Conclusion Preliminary analyses were made, including occlusal force, strain and the pattern of deformation of the base. The distribution pattern of occlusal force on the bases and the relation of occlusal force and strain were discovered. The system provides a very effective means for the improvement of dental restorative work.
