Abstract: Aim Gives a brief introduction and analysis to the new developments in computer networking technology.Methods By analyzing the switching technology,routing technology,third layer switching technology,real time information transfer technology and ATM technology,characteristics of these technology and their strengths are exposed.Results Switching technology gives a solution to the bandwidth problem.Third layer switching gives a solution to the routing bottleneck problem.ATM technology in conjunction with others give solution to the real time information transfer.Conclusion Only by making the right choice can full use be made of the respective networking technologies.
