Abstract: Introduce a new fast hopping frequency synthesizer- the direct digital synthesizer, which has advantages in many applications due to its fast fequendcy changes, fine resolution and low phase noise. It can be applied in communications in, instrumentation and military systems. In the meantime, design of a direct digital synthesizer utilizing AD9955 is presented and the design of DDS - driven, phase-locked loop frequency synthesizers is studied.
