Abstract: Presents a novel optical fibers array sensor, based on the phenomenonof light radiation normal to the axis of an optical fiber coming off at placeswhere the optical fiber is subjected to slight amounts of bending. The structure,features of operation, and interfacing of the sensor are discussed. This representsa kind of skin-like tactile sensor with a good prospect and worthy of furtherdevelopment.
