Abstract: A new approach for internal model control, V-canonical internal model control (V1MC), is suggested. As compared with the approach of a model predictive control, the design procedure is simplified, the tuning parameters are reduced, the complex calculation of matrix inverse is averted, and especially, when the plants use multiple time delays, the calculation time is greatly shortened. VIMC techniques are readify applicable to chemical process control problems.
