Synthesis and crystal structure of bis(1,3-diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazolium) hexatungstate

The title compound bis (1,3-diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazolium) hexatungstate, C₁₁H₂₁N₂₂W₆O₁₉, was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and elemental analysis. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2₁/n with a=1.112.84(14), b=1.283.84(17), c=1.293.28(17) nm, β=96.410(2)°, V=1.836.2(4) nm³, C₂₂H₄₂N₄O₁₉W₆, M_r=1.769.70, D_c=3.201 g/cm³, F(000)=1.596, Z=2, μ(MoKα)=18.797 mm^-1, the final R=0.031.3, _wR=0.059.8 for observed reflections (I>2σ(I)).
