  • The stability of orifice-annular and shallow-pocket restricted floating ring gas journal bearing is theoretically analyzed by use of the modified 8-stiffness and damp coefFcients method. The trends of the rotor dimensionless critical mass, varying with the cleaCanoe ratio C2 / C the ratio m2/m1 the sing speed ratio cot/co, and the supply pressure PS are presented. The theoretical results are in agreement with Wang Y F's experimental results.
